Mexico: economically active population 2013-2023

Most of the economically active population in Mexico is made up of employed people. In the second quarter of 2023, a total of 58.52 million residents in Mexico were considered economically active. More than 95 percent of them, around 57 million, carried out some kind of remunerated economic activity and were therefore considered fully or partly employed. The quantity of people who were either unemployed or searching for a job neared 1.7 million that same quarter, the second lowest amount since the first quarter of 2020.
